Hi! I’m Troy [McCall]
I’m a 38 year-old digital nomad, dev-ops/backend engineer, systems admin, & security contractor.
I studied Computer Science, & Mathematics at: the University of North Carolina Charlotte & Graduate Evolutionary Genomics / Bioinformatics at: North Carolina State University .
I specialize in network-system and web-app securities. I have worked on most every major web platform and technology: from custom J2EE Web Applications Adecco , to .NET based Microsoft Technologies (SharePoint, MOSS, WSS) at Ingersoll Rand , to popular open source frameworks and libraries: including li3, Laravel, fabric, Gin, Socket.io, & Express in my current role at MODE .
I’m passionate about open source, automation, security, privacy, machine learning, hiking, climbing, and coffee.
I operate most comfortably in:
- Golang, Python, PHP7+, but I’ll write a promise in JavaScript if it’s necessary.
- Bash & Ansible (no zsh in this house)
- Docker, RHEL-based hosts, Alpine-based containers
- Traefik is my preferred proxy, but I have dabbled with HAProxy and Caddy as well
